K&L Gates has added Simon Poh and Amigo Xie as corporate and transactional practice partners in Shanghai. Poh joins from Linklaters, where he was global co-head of the automotive sector team and the Asian healthcare sector team, while Xie rejoins the firm from Llinks Law Offices. Both Poh and Xie have been established in the Shanghai market for the past 10 years and have deep corporate experience. Poh regularly advises on M&As and has strong experience acting for international corporations and financial institutions on their China-related acquisitions and joint ventures. He also counsels on outbound investments by Chinese companies and SOEs. Fluent in English, Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia and Cantonese, Poh acts for clients from various countries across a wide range of sectors. On the other hand, Xie concentrates on China-related cross-border M&A and corporate governance matters. He regularly advises investors, MNCs, middle-market, and public and emerging companies from such industries as IT, manufacturing, education, food, entertainment, and e-commerce. Xie has experience with overseas listings and cross-border M&A, both inbound and outbound from China. He previously practised with the firm from 2005 to 2015, having been promoted to partner with the firm in 2013. |

With a wealth of experience gained from more than 15 years of practice in legal and tax consulting, she is highly respected in her field of expertise. She has a comprehensive knowledge of the Thai legal environment, but has particular expertise in commercial laws, covering all aspects of corporate restructuring, foreign business entities in Thailand, dissolutions/liquidation and M&As. Further, she has an extensive background and expert knowledge in immigration law and the laws relating to the employment of expatriates. Prior to joining the firm, Kuwiwattanawong was the associate director for the legal and tax department of RSM Advisory (Thailand) and, prior to that, she spent 14 years in leadership roles with Ernst & Young. |
