| Mayer Brown JSM has appointed Gabriela Kennedy as head of the firm’s IP & TMT group in Asia to be based in Hong Kong. Kennedy has over 19 years of experience advising clients on strategic and complex IP matters and transactions, broadcasting regulation and media transactions, IT outsourcing, data protection and privacy, domain names and telecoms matters. She has undertaken lobbying work for international industry associations in relation to IP legislation in Hong Kong, notably in changes to copyright laws that advance the protection of digital rights. She has been involved in leading IP and media litigation cases in Hong Kong. Kennedy has authored more than 200 articles on issues concerning IP, IT, e-commerce and telecommunications law. Prior to joining the firm, she had been partner at Hogan Lovells since 2003. She was educated in England, Hong Kong and Scotland and is dually qualified in Hong Kong and in England & Wales. |
