After much hype, it appears that the legal world has the second trans-Atlantic merger on its hands. The US and UK firms of Sonnenschein Nath Rosenthal and Denton Wilde Sapte will be joining forces officially on 30 September 2010 following a positive vote by the partnerships at both firms. SNR Denton, as the new venture will be known, will be able to offer the services of 1400 lawyers across eighteen countries, and will operate in a similar fashion to Baker & McKenzie in that it will consist of a number of member firms functioning as separate legal entities.
