International law firm Pinsent Masons has announced that it has entered into a long-term cooperation agreement with Beijing Hesen Law Firm that will boost its projects and construction offering in China. Following its move to a new office in Shanghai, this is the latest sign of the firm’s ambitions for growth in China and the wider Asia Pacific region. The newly-formed Beijing Hesen Law Firm is led by Ye Wanhe and Dr Elvis Zhou, two of China’s leading construction lawyers with extensive experience in advising domestic and international Chinese companies. China has the world’s highest levels of planned spend on infrastructure. Pinsent Masons says the new cooperation will allow Chinese clients with projects or disputes within China to benefit from its knowledge and expertise, while also providing international organisations that either work in, or are entering the Chinese market with access to two leading domestic lawyers. Chris Mullen, senior partner at Pinsent Masons, said: “This is an important development for the firm and our projects and construction offering to our clients. The cooperation between our market-leading practice with two of China’s leading construction partners will also help us to deliver on our strategy of extending our international reach.” Ye Wanhe, of Beijing Hesen, added: “This cooperation will allow us to make available a level of experience that has not previously been available to construction companies in China.” |
