Ashurst has entered into a best friend referral arrangement with the recently established firm, Indian Law Partners (ILP). The new relationship will see Ashurst refer its clients to ILP for Indian legal advice and ILP refer clients to Ashurst for work outside India, where appropriate. Having launched operations on 1 April 2011, ILP consists of two partners, Gopika Pant and Piyoosh Gupta, one counsel and ten associates. Ashurst senior partner Charlie Geffen said: “Our relationship with ILP confirms our long term commitment to India and our wish to continue to assist clients with their strategic growth plans there. We are confident that by working closely on a mutual referral basis, both Ashurst and ILP can make a valuable contribution to the future success of Ashurst in India.” Ashurst’s India Group comprises more than 50 English, US and Indian qualified lawyers across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with an ‘India desk’ in each office. The firm advised on Coal India’s US$3.4 billion IPO – the largest in the country to date. |
