Malaysian firm Zul Rafique & Partners has announced a strategic alliance with Bahar & Partners, one of the leading law firms in Indonesia. Together, the firms will have combined resources of more than a hundred lawyers in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. Marking this new alliance, the two firms have recently established a joint venture company “ZUL RAFIQUE Bahar & Partners” in Brunei Darussalam, which will become the center point of their plan in exploring the South East Asian market. 

Based in Kuala Lumpur and led by its founder and Managing Partner, Dato’ Zulkifly Rafique, Zul Rafique & Partners was established in 1999 and is well known in both contentious and non-contentious matters. The firm has grown to become the fourth largest in Malaysia with over 90 fee-earners. Founded in 1992, Bahar & Partners provides legal services with a focus on corporate laws, handling both domestic as well as cross-border transactions involving both Indonesian and foreign parties, including the Indonesian government, SOEs, foreign investors and financial institutions.
