Leveraging the potential offered by the UAE, which is now one of the fastest growing regions in the world, Baker & McKenzie has tied the knot with Dubai based firm Habib Al Mulla. Cementing its already strong presence in the Emirates, the legal juggernaut is looking to capitalise on a hefty client base in need of legal and regulatory advice – both on a local and an international level.

The firm, Habib Al Mulla was founded by Dr Habib Al Mulla almost 30 years ago and he was the architect behind the Financial Free Zones legal framework which culminated in the first Financial Free Zone in the UAE.

Dr Habib Al Mullah stated that the “merger created a unique law firm offering in the UAE, with extensive local capabilities including court representation” and this was needed at a time when the “legal landscape in the UAE continued to become more sophisticated” along with corresponding “client requirements.”
