Baker & McKenzie has appointed Paul Elliott as the firm’s new Asia Pacific Head of Project Finance. Elliot most recently led the firm’s Finance and Projects practice group in Singapore, and has also practised in England, Hong Kong, Thailand and New Zealand throughout his thirty years of experience. During this time, he has advised clients on project, structured and cross-border financings – including the US$3 billion project financing of the expansion and upgrade of an existing telecoms network and the Greenfield rollout of eight telecom circles in India – as well as on debt restructurings, and his extensive expertise spans the power, oil, gas & petrochemicals, telecoms, transportation, and water industries. Elliot officially commences the new role on 1 September 2010, which the firm says has been created in response to increasing demand for integrated advice from clients who are involved in major infrastructure projects in the region.
