Simmons & Simmons plans to strengthen its Asian offering with the opening of an office in Beijing. The firm already has a presence in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The firm’s managing partner, Mark Dawkins, said of the news, ‘‘China is a key area of expansion for the firm, and the opening of a Beijing office is part of our commitment to build upon and develop our strength in the region.’’
The firm has also announced the appointment of partner Davis Wang, previously of King & Wood, who will be based in the Beijing office when it opens. Wang is a PRC and US-qualified lawyer who specialises in foreign direct investment, M&A, private equity fund investment and fund formation, with a focus on the TMT industry sector. Fluent in English and Mandarin, he will bring to the new office more than 15 years of experience representing multinational companies. |
