White & Case LLP has established an international arbitration practice in Singapore, a move through which the firm hopes to capitalise on opportunities in Singapore whilst meeting client demand across Asia. Partner Aloke Ray, who has relocated from London to head the international arbitration practice in Asia, has particular experience in the oil and gas, construction, metals and mining and telecoms sectors, in addition to experience of India-related matters. He will be joined at the partnership level by Nandakumar Ponniya from Rajah & Tann, who advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters, primarily in the area of construction law. Two associates will round out the 4-person international arbitration team in Singapore.
