US firm WilmerHale is in the early stages of applying for a licence to practise in Shanghai. The firm’s only current Asian presence is its Beijing office, where it provides a range of corporate, financial and intellectual property services. The firm hopes the application will be the first stop in its intention to broaden its overall Asian platform.
