Shearman & Sterling has expanded its China M&A outbound practice with the addition of Li Chen as a partner in Beijing. Li was previously a partner with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, where she had a particular focus on China outbound transactions. She represents major power, mining and industrial companies and private equity firms in China-related public and private acquisitions and dispositions, as well as corporate transactions and financings, with a particular focus on outbound acquisitions and investments by Chinese enterprises. Li previously practiced at Shearman & Sterling as an associate for eight years, before joining another multinational law firm in 2011. She has extensive experience advising clients on China-related M&A transactions across a broad range of industries, including natural resources, healthcare, entertainment, alternative energy, telecommunications, real estate and public utilities.
