Norton Rose Fulbright has made a series of management appointments in Asia, effective May 1, 2017. Psyche Tai, a corporate partner who has been with the firm in Hong Kong for 13 years, has been appointed as head of the Hong Kong office. Yu-En Ong, a banking and finance partner who has worked at the firm for 13 years in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, has been appointed as the new head of the Singapore office. Nick Merritt, a project finance and banking partner based in Singapore, has been appointed head of Asia business strategy. In this role Merritt will lead the strategic coordination of business opportunities across Asia, and between Asia and other regions. He will continue to act as the global leader for infrastructure, mining and commodities. In addition, Jeff Smith, current head of South-East Asia, will relocate to the UK. He will become a consultant to the firm continuing to service the needs of long-standing Asian clients. Phillip John, current head of North Asia, will retire on August 31, 2017.
