Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow has appointed banking and finance lawyer Emmanuel Hadjidakis as associate principal in its finance & projects practice in Singapore. He joins the firm from Allen & Overy LLP, where he was a senior associate in that firm’s Singapore office. He previously worked with Allen & Overy LLP in London, Allen & Overy Shook Lin & Bok in Singapore and Allens Arthur Robinson in Sydney. Hadjidakis has 12 years of experience in Islamic finance, acquisition finance, trade finance, property finance, project finance, restructuring and general banking. He also has extensive experience in acting for financiers, borrowers and sponsors.
Troutman Sanders LLP has bolstered its M&A practice with the appointment of Richard Grams as a partner to its mergers, acquisitions & business ventures practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Grams was engaged as head of Stephenson Harwood’s China practice since 2006, where he became the China co-counsel of choice for a number of US, Canadian and UK law firms. He received a BA in Canada, an LLB with first class honors from the University of Hong Kong, and professional training at Cambridge University. Troutman Sanders LLP has also strengthened its securities and corporate governance practice with the appointment of Joe Sevack as partner. Sevack’s expertise lies in the areas of debt financing, project financing and US securities, and he is considered by investment banks and corporations as one of the top debt financing lawyers in Asia Pacific. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP in Hong Kong from 2006 to the present, and a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Hong Kong from 2000 to 2006. Sevack’s practice will focus on debt and equity capital markets, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border commercial transactions. Weil, Gotshal & Manges has appointed John Fadely as a partner and member of the global funds practice in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Fadely has extensive experience in Asia representing international and Asia-based sponsors in the formation and restructuring of Asia-focused private investment funds, as well as in the formation of joint venture investment vehicles and carried interest plans. He has also been active in representing institutional investors in private funds, including the formation of sizable co-investment vehicles. Fadely, who is fluent in Mandarin, has been at the forefront of the recent formation of RMB private equity funds. He joins the firm as a corporate partner from the Hong Kong office of Clifford Chance. |
