King Tak Fung has joined Eversheds as partner in the firm’s banking practice group in Hong Kong. Fung specialises in banking and international trade and prior to joining the legal profession was the vice president and head of trade finance at Bank of America. He joins the firm from DLA Piper.

Hong Kong banking partner William Leung has also joined the Eversheds team from DLA Piper. Leung handles a wide range of contentious matters including disputes involving commercial matters with a particular emphasis on product liability, marine and air transport and related insurance matters and contentious trust matters.

Partner Ivan Ng has joined the Hong Kong Eversheds team alongside colleagues from DLA Piper. Ng has extensive experience in handling litigation and arbitration matters, and will serve in the firm’s banking practice group.

Banking partner Ronald Sum was among the recent group of partners joining Eversheds’ Hong Kong office from DLA Piper. Sum specialises in logistics agreements, bills of lading, charterparty, insurance,transportation disputes and ship sale and purchase and financing.

Partner Michael Yau rounds out the five lateral partner recruits by Eversheds’ Hong Kong office from DLA Piper. Yau has broad experience in handling banking and finance matters, including syndicated and bilateral lending, receivables finance, structured commodities finance, loans restructuring and security enforcement.
